Urgency & Order

Need for Urgency

There is a sense of urgency in her words:

There is a great work to be done by our sanitariums and schools. Time is short. What is done must be done quickly. Let those who are connected with these important instrumentalities be wholly converted. Let them not live for self, for worldly purposes, withholding themselves from full consecration to God's service. Let them give themselves, body, soul, and spirit, to God, to be used by Him in saving souls.

E.G. White (SpTB11 15.3)

The cause of God demands men who can see quickly and act instantaneously at the right time and with power.

Testimonies for the Church (3T 497.2-3)

You will have obstacles and difficulties to encounter at every turn, and you must with firm purpose decide to conquer them, or they will conquer you.

Testimonies for the Church (3T 497.4)

Prompt and decisive action may accomplish great results.

Testimonies for the Church (3T 499.1)

My brother, you have really felt that your cautious, hesitating course was commendable, rather a virtue than a wrong. But from what the Lord has shown me in this matter, these sluggish movements on your part have greatly hindered the work of God and caused many things to be left undone which in justice ought to have been done with promptness.

Testimonies for the Church (3T 499.2)

May we be lead by the Holy Spirit and act decisively. But to act decisively we must first be in a daily communion with God. Let us form strong relationships and build our faith so when the Spirit leads we have the courage to step out in faith!

Need for Organization

Everything must be done according to a well-matured plan, and with system. God has entrusted His sacred work to men, and He asks that they shall do it carefully.

Manuscript Releases (8MR 326.2)

We must plan wisely. God will go before us if we will look to Him as our Counselor and our strength. We need to get away from our selfishness, and begin to work for the Lord in earnest.

E.G. White, June 13, 1904

We must have at the head of the departments, calm, firm, punctual business men, able to bring order out of confusion, but who will not throw everything in confusion and keep things eternally on the run in order that jobs left behind may be done on time. There must be men who will begin a work in the right way, and hold to it and push it forward firmly.
